Codependancy

I will admit it out loud....to the blogging world and beyond.....
"Hello, my name is Karen, and I am codependent." (on my husband)
Glenn and I grew up together and dated for 7 years before we got married, and in March it will be 19 years of marriage! We have been together longer than we have been apart. He really is the best person I know.....and he makes me rotten.
Sometimes I think I am Glenn's only flaw. (other times I have a long list of his flaws) He really is incredible....and he reproduced.... so there is hope for other women that might get one of my sons as a husband.
Seriously, not only is Glenn a man after God's own heart, but he leads his family down that same road....with him. He loves God and wants to make Him happy. AND, this Godly man does more around the house than I do. (and I stay home) Let me make myself clear, I don't leave chores for him, but if he sees something that needs to be done, he does it. If he is watching a football game, he matches socks or folds laundry. If my car needs cleaning, he cleans it. He keeps our yard. He helps bath Kendall. He helps with homework. And, he still finds time to spend with God each and every day! He is a happy man. He is a positive man. He is a "Hunk of Burnin' Love Man".....and God matched us up! Thanks God!
Glenn and Chase have been in Washington, DC since 12/26 and will be back 12/30. Man do I miss him. I miss his help, but I really miss just being with him. Yeah, we talk thanks to the intelligent soul that invented cell phones, but I can't hang out with him. I miss Chase too, as his little brother and sister do as well. I am ready for them to be home....safe and sound....all of my chicks in their nest.
Dear Lord,
Thank you for Glenn. You knew just what I needed and you gave it to me. Help me to appreciate Glenn more and let him know he is appreciated. Above all Lord, may I be codependant on YOU. Amen.

  1. Hey! Ben and Jack were in DC the week before Thanksgiving to do the sites! Jack had always dreamed of going, and so they went and stayed in Arlington with Ben's cousin who is a general at the Pentagon. They were able to get the pro-tour of the Pentagon, go to the top of the Washington Monument (got the tickets before they left). We tried to get White House tickets, but the only day they had available to see it there was something going on at the White House. They also went to Philly on the train from DC to see the Philly sites. They had a ball!!!
Oh, and I got your F'book thing. My mom was having her 1,000th foot surgery today. All I can hope is that I didn't inherit her feet!

  2. I always feel like a terrible lazy babysitter when i asked Zoey to play with my hair.... but somedays that's all i really want so i ask anyway. haha! And she loves doing it so it works out just fine!

We should definitely get together some time! I would love that! I don't do much as it is, but i'm trying to break out of my shell and change things! It would be wonderful!!!

I've really enjoyed your blog. Unlike me, you truly are gifted at writing.

    Thanks for the comment!
