I am up waiting for my men to come home. I thought I would be asleep, but I ain't. So, I thought I would do a little writin'.
I can't help but parallel my family being gone, my preparation for their return and that of the preparation of my Savior coming back for me.
While they were gone, we were REALLY relaxed. Not alot of chores. Just alot of hanging out, staying up late, sleeping late. Now before you mind goes crazy, things did not go to complete pot. I maintained daily chores, but the deep cleaning was saved for later. Cade, Kendall and I really had a good time. I don't get time with 2 very often and it was fun. But they are coming back.
I am kinda a freak about wanting things to be just so so before we leave to go out of town anywhere. Ya know, just in case....well ya know. I also am kinda a freak about wanting things to be perfect for my family at certain times. I really wanted things to be in their place, everything clean and smelling clean, laundry done and UP, clean sheets---the electric blanket warming up their beds, music faintly playing and the covers turned back.
SOOOO, we have been making ready for them to come home. Everything IS finally done. Now, they just need to get here.
My momma called today and said she had just heard the saddest song on the radio. I have no idea what the name of it was, but this guy had been drinking, had a wreck and was dieing. A guy stopped to help and he told the guy to not tell his momma he met Jesus with whiskey on his breath. That was pretty sad. (but i think most c&w songs are)
Am I prepared for my Savior....the King of Kings...the Creator...the Alpha and Omega to come for me? Sure my soul is ready...it has been ready for 29 years, but do I have some housekeeping to tend to? What is left out (unconfessed sin) that will make my life a little less prepared? What fruit of the spirit needs polishing? What needs to be put in its place....priorities?
Dear Lord,
I know you are coming. And I know it will be a drop in, unannounced visit. Help me to see what needs attention in my life to make my life prepared for your arrival. If there is something I need to pick up, lead me to it. If there is something I need to throw out, point it out. I want to be able to welcome you with a prepared heart. I really really love you. Amen.

Thanks for the info about the kitchen. Our new kitchen is overloaded with countertop space, so I shudder to think what it will cost to re-do them all. My kitchen/dining room is pretty stark looking right now anyway because all of the Christmas got put away, and I didn't put anything back out. It's a sad sight! Sorry to hear your little guy has the flu! We battled that last year at this time. Jack ran a 104 degree fever for 9 days. It was awful! Hope you get some relief soon!
ReplyDeleteHey, Can you email me the name of the painter you mentioned? Does this person do cabinet painting? Thanks!
